Saying goodbye to beautiful Nusa Penida

After about one and a half years of living on Nusa Penida it’s time for me to say goodbye. Big thank you to Kirill and Yana for giving the opportunity to teach Freediving and who set up a beautiful Freediving school with Freedive Nusa. And a big shoutout to Artur my fellow instructor and spearfishing buddy.

I have seen tourism on Nusa Penida developing very rapidly during my stay and I really wish for the local community, businesses and especially the protection of marine life that a a managed and sustainable approach will be started, although I know that might still be a long process.

Also thank you to everyone of Trash Hero Nusa Penida making a little difference in cleaning the beach and roads together. Keep the good work up.

I’ll certainly come back to Nusa Penida one day.

I’m back home in Germany for one month now, before heading to beautiful Zanzibar and continue teaching Freediving there for Extreme Blue Water Freediving from July onwards.

See you in the ocean,

Heiko
